# YouTube Money Calculator

Estimate what a channel could earn each month and year from its views, content type and niche.

> **Quick answer:** YouTube earnings are roughly views ÷ 1,000 × RPM. For example, 100,000 views at a $4 RPM is about $400. Enter your views and pick a niche below for a low, typical and high estimate.

Interactive tool on the web page. Agents can call the MCP tool `estimate_youtube_earnings` (https://finoraa.com/mcp).

## How do you estimate YouTube earnings?

Divide your views by 1,000 and multiply by your RPM, the revenue you earn per 1,000 views after YouTube’s share. At a $4 RPM, 250,000 views is 250 × $4, or about $1,000.

*RPM ranges used by this calculator, in US dollars per 1,000 views*

| Niche | Low | High |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Gaming | $1.00 | $4.00 |
| Entertainment and vlogs | $1.50 | $5.00 |
| Education and how-to | $3.00 | $9.00 |
| Tech and reviews | $4.00 | $12.00 |
| Business and finance | $8.00 | $25.00 |
| Shorts (all niches) | $0.01 | $0.07 |

## What changes your RPM?

- Where your viewers live, since advertisers pay more in some countries.
- Your niche and how much advertisers want to reach that audience.
- The season. Ad spending is usually higher in the last quarter of the year.
- Video length and ad formats, such as mid-roll ads on longer videos.
- How many viewers use ad blockers, who do not generate ad revenue.

## RPM or CPM?

CPM is what advertisers pay per 1,000 ad impressions. RPM is what you earn per 1,000 video views after YouTube’s share, so it is the better number for planning. See [YouTube RPM vs CPM explained](https://finoraa.com/guide-youtube-rpm-vs-cpm.html).

## How to find your real RPM

Once a channel is monetized, YouTube Studio shows RPM under Analytics, in the Revenue tab. Use that number in the custom RPM option for the most accurate estimate. The ranges above are broad estimates, not guarantees.

## Questions about this tool

### What is RPM?

Revenue per 1,000 views, after YouTube takes its share. It is what the creator keeps.

### How accurate is the estimate?

It is rough. RPM varies by audience location, season and ad demand. The RPM in YouTube Studio Analytics is the best number to use.

### Why is the Shorts range so low?

Shorts earn a much smaller amount per view than long videos.

### Can I see another channel’s earnings?

No. YouTube does not publish them. This tool only estimates from views and typical RPM ranges.
